My name is Derik Simenson, I am from Sioux City, Iowa. I never saw myself as a runner and stumbled onto running and worked hard and had a very successful high school career. I came to William Woods University to pursue a teaching degree and to also run collegiately. I chose William Woods because it was a new program that was just started in 2004 and has been consistent in bringing in new talent every year. I like to run for fun mostly but I admit that i like competition as well.
